Miley Cyrus explains her absence

Update : 14 Aug 2017, 10:16 PM
Miley Cyrus’ last minute cancellation from attending the Teen Choice Awards was both disappointing and shocking to her fans. She was set to accept the Teen Choice Awards’ highest honour on Sunday, but she did not show up. Early in the show, presenter Victoria Justice took to the stage to announce “Miley Cyrus couldn’t make it here tonight,” to the gasps and boos from the audience. Meanwhile, the 24 year-old singer resorted to Instagram to explain her absence from the award show. She blamed the “unrealistic schedule” she has made for herself and apologised to fans. She wrote, “I want to say thank you from the very bottom of my heart for presenting me with #TheUltimateChoiceAward ! I am beyond bummed I couldn’t make it to the show as I had every intention of being there to accept and celebrate this honor! I created an unrealistic schedule for myself which leads me to this announcement!” In an attempt to pacify her fans, evidently, she ended up announcing her new song single: “I’ve been tryin to keep the secret but I can’t hide it any longer! My new single / music video #YoungerNow will be dropping this Friday, Aug 18th.” “I hope to always make people smile and shine light thru my work!” her post read. Cyrus’ new album also titled Younger Now, is set to come out on September 29.
