Much to the delight of the horror film lovers of Bangladesh, Star Cineplex is all set to release the latest instalment of the favoured horror franchise Conjuring, Annabelle: Creation on August 11. The film is getting released in Bangladesh on the same day of it’s international release.
Annabelle: Creation, the American supernatural horror film is directed by David F Sandberg and written by Gary Dauberman. It is a prequel to 2014’s Annabelle, and the fourth film in The Conjuring film series.
Annabelle: Creation chronicles the life of a doll-maker and his wife. Several years after the tragic death of their little girl, the doll-maker and his wife welcome a nun and several girls from a shuttered orphanage into their home, soon becoming the target of the doll-maker’s possessed creation, Annabelle.
The film stars Stephanie Sigman, Talitha Bateman, Anthony LaPaglia and Miranda Otto, and depicts the possessed Annabelle doll’s origin. The film was first premièred at the LA Film Festival on June 19, 2017.
The horror flick is receiving critical applaud after its première. According to Rotten Tomatoes, the film has an approval rating of 71% based on 75 reviews, with an average rating of 6.2/10. The site’s critical consensus reads, “Annabelle: Creation adds another strong chapter to the Conjuring franchise – and offers further proof that freaky-looking dolls remain reliably terrifying.”
Justin Lowe of The Hollywood Reporter called it “wickedly terrifying,” and said it was “closer in tone and old-school psychological fright tactics to the original film than either The Conjuring 2 or Annabelle.”
With plenty of decent shocks, and the odd genuine surprise up its sleeve, Annabelle: Creation is seemingly off to a flying start in Bangladesh.
