Woman in online video claims Salman Shah was 'murdered'
Ruby Sultana, who was one of the 11 people against whom murder accusation was brought by Salman Shah's mother, has posted a video online claiming that the actor was “murdered,” and did not die by suicide, which is the official conclusion in several investigation reports conducted by the DB, CID, and a Judicial Magistrate. On August 6, Ruby Sultana posted a video on Facebook claiming that one of the most successful actors of Dhallywood was “mudered.” She also claimed that she was not involved in the killing but her husband Jan Lin Chan, her brother Rumi, Salman Shah's wife Samira Huq, and others were involved in that alleged murder  of the actor.

According to the case documents, Ruby lived in another apartment in the same building at the time of Shah's death and was the actor's personal stylist. She was on the scene when the police recovered the actor's body. Ruby Sultana also said in the video that she “ran away” from some place to reveal this. She urges to continue investigation and start a trial process in which she hopes to provide her “statement in any way possible.” [arve url="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZAsbVhTcWH0"/] She did not mention from where she posted the video, but according to her Facebook profile, she is currently living in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She looks frightened and worried during the 3-minute long video. She also mentioned that her husband was also known as John Chang in Dhaka and ran the 'Shanghai Restaurant' at Dhanmondi Road No 27. History of the Salman Shah case On September 6, 1996, the whole country was shocked on hearing the news of Salman Shah’s untimely death. His real name was Shahriar Chowdhury Emon. His body was found hanging from a ceiling fan. Salman allegedly committed suicide at his Eskaton residence on September 6, 1996. His father Kamaruddin Chowdhury filed an unnatural death case with Ramna police station. Later, Kamaruddin applied to turn it into a murder case alleging that his son was murdered. After completing the investigation on November 3, 1997, CID submitted a final report before the court stating that Salman had committed suicide. Later, Salman’s father filed a revision case against the report. Following the case on May 19, 2003, a Dhaka court was directed to conduct a judicial probe into the case. On July 9, 2014, the court submitted the probe report where the magistrate said he found no evidence of the actor being killed and opined that Salman Shah committed suicide. On February 10, 2015 a Dhaka court ordered RAB after hearing on a naraji petition filed by Salman’s mother Nilufar Chowdhury challenging the earlier judicial probe that did not find any evidence of suicide. Finally, on December 6, 2016, another Dhaka court directed the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) to conduct a further probe in the case after hearing on a no-confidence petition filed by Salman’s mother Nilufar Chowdhury.
