Aynabaji famed director Amitabh Reza, who has won the hearts of the local audience with his episode of Aynabaji Original Series recently, is returning with Swastir Golpo (Story of comfort). Through the anticipated project, Amitabh along with his fellow director Mezbaur Rahman Suman, will present seven relatively new talents to in the TV industry, Amitabh confirmed to a national daily on Tuesday.
Details of the project will be disclosed soon in a press conference, Amitabh said.
“We need to present beautiful stories through TV. Keeping that in mind, we’ve selected a few stories which narrate the story of humanity. We’ll try to tell the tale of humanity this time. The story of social reality,” said the director, whose magnum opus, Aynabaji, a crime thriller, has brought a breakthrough in his career.
Amitabh wants to step out of the circle, once again. “We want to tell the stories that are strewn around our everyday lives. There’s a popular trend of comedy dramas during Eid and we’ve stepped out of it,” he added.
Swastir Golpo will be showcase directors who have had little or no experience of working in projects of this size before. One of the directors has the experience of directing a TV drama, the rest of them only directed Youtube based short films and TV ad previously, Amitabh informed.
“It’s not possible for us to work with a big budget right now. It his hard to bring the celebrity directors in projects with this amount of budget, which is why Mezabur Rahman Suman and I have planned to present seven new directors to the industry,” he said about the plan.
But why call it Swastir Golpo? The director has an esoteric explanation. “Now-a-days, we lack tolerance in our country. We are always intolerant, always in a rush. So, we thought, a little comfort in this time of intolerance will do good to our audience,” Amitabh said while explaining the metaphysical title.
