Parambrata plays Feluda for Bangladeshi TV
An upcoming detective thriller series based on Satyajit Ray’s Feluda is currently being made in Bangladesh. The series, which is yet to be titled, is being made for a Bangladeshi TV channel where popular Indian actor Parambrata Chatterjee will be seen playing the titular role. Interestingly, Parambrata Chatterjee earlier played Topshe in three films, Bombaiyer Bombete, Kailashey Kelenkari and Tintorettor Jishu, directed by Sandip Ray, son of Satyajit Ray. Sabyasachi Chakrabarty played Feluda in those films. This time, Riddhi Sen, the son of Indian actor Kaushik Sen plays the role of Topshe in the series alongside Parambrata. Recently, Bangladeshi production company Kandy Productions Ltd and TOM Creations have acquired the copyrights for all the Feluda stories to be aired on Bangladeshi TV. A source close to Kandy Productions informed that, the production company has primarily selected two stories, Sheyal Debota Rahasya and Ghurghutiyar Ghatona for the series. A single story takes around 90 minutes of screen time, which will be divided into two or four episodes. The first season of the series will come out this Eid-ul-Adha while the second season will be released months later. It has been confirmed that Bangladeshi actors will be seen playing supporting roles in the TV series as Tariq Anam Khan was spotted taking part in the filming of an episode of the series recently. Khan’s role in the series is yet to be revealed. The production company informed that details about the series will be confirmed at a press conference to be held shortly.
