Precious friend, don’t say goodbye...

Update : 23 Jul 2017, 09:41 PM
The sudden death of Manam Ahmed’s son Zeheen on Saturday has shaken the entire music community. A talented musician himself, Zeheen Ahmed played guitar in the heavy metal band Mechanix. He had also played in Nemesis for a while. Sharmin Sultana Sumi, the singer for Chirkutt, wrote this touching tribute to Zeheen, expressing her thoughts on the young guitarist’s untimely demise, as well as pleading the younger generation to not give up hope on life. Precious friend, don’t say goodbye. Stay for your mother’s tranquil smile. Stay for the magical ray of sun that seeps through the curtain in the morning. Stay for you favourite guitar. Stay for the book you couldn’t put down. Stay for the endless hours spent with friends. If you feel uncared-for, then go where ever you like, do whatever calms you; I won’t mind. But then please, come back. You should stay. Please stay dearest friend. Stay for the strange man who always stands around your neighbourhood and smiles at you. Stay, my friend, for the elderly person you helped cross the road the other day. Stay and keep living as the embodiment of courage against those who hide behind masks. Stay like the unwavering pillar that refuses to give up when facing the turbulent tides of reality. Life is incomparable, life is extraordinary! Please stay, because you inspire me to live, everyday. May despair not succeed anymore in taking lives away. May no more parents lose their children to suicide. Be well, Zeheen. May God give Manam bhai and his family the strength to bear this loss.
