Dunkirk is here

Update : 21 Jul 2017, 10:45 PM
Acclaimed writer-director Christopher Nolan’s film Dunkirk, which has a strong feasibility of being Nolan’s magnum opus, is in Bangladesh now. The film was released in Dhaka’s Star Cineplex on July 21, along with some 3,600 theatres around the world. Set during the Second World War, the film concerns the Dunkirk evacuation and tells the story of allied soldiers from Belgium, the British Empire and France, who are surrounded by the German army and evacuated during a fierce battle in World War II. To contain little dialogue and create suspense solely through details, Nolan told the story of Dunkirk from three perspectives – the land, sea and air. The film stars Fionn Whitehead, Tom Glynn-Carney, Jack Lowden, Harry Styles, Aneurin Barnard, James D’Arcy, Barry Keoghan, Kenneth Branagh, Cillian Murphy, Mark Rylance and Tom Hardy. Distributed by Warner Bros Pictures, the film is an international co-production between the United Kingdom, the United States, France and the Netherlands. Christopher Nolan, who has gone from low-budget independent films to working on some of the biggest blockbusters ever made, is best known for his cerebral, often nonlinear storytelling. The auteur du jour has previously captivated millions with his films, including, Inception, Memento,  The Dark Knight trilogy, Interstellar. Written, co-produced and directed by Christopher Nolan, the film is receiving critical acclaim, with critics praising the cinematography, direction, acting and Hans Zimmer’s musical score. Some are even calling it both one of the greatest war films ever, as well as Nolan’s best film to date. The film’s pristine reviews so far ensure that Dunkirk will be the hottest film ticket for the time being.
