American director, writer, and actor Quentin Tarantino, who is often considered to be one of the greatest film-makers of his generation, is on the verge of creating a new film, chronicling the Manson Family murders.
The Inglourious Basterds helmer is reportedly finishing up the yet-to-be-titled script, once again with Bob and Harvey Weinstein, which promises to be a “unique take” on the Manson Family murders.
Among the rumoured actors to star in the film, the 54 year old director has reportedly met two A-list actors for the roles – Brad Pitt and Jennifer Lawrence.
Details of the script have not been immediately released but Hollywood Reporter said one of the plot points would focus on actress Sharon Tate’s murder.
Production of the film is aiming to kick off in summer 2018.
Details about the script haven’t been made public as of yet. However, Tate murders were the notorious and brutal killings of five people by members of the Manson Family on August 8, 1969. Four members of the family invaded the home of married celebrity couple, actress Sharon Tate and director Roman Polanski at 10050 Cielo Drive in Los Angeles. They murdered Tate (who was eight months pregnant), along with three friends who were visiting at the time, and an 18-year-old visitor, who was slain as he was departing the home. Polanski was not present on the night of the murders as he was working on a film in Europe.
Charles Manson, the leader of the cult, and a few of his followers were sentenced to life in prison in 1971 for the murders at Tate’s residence and several other killings the group committed.
