Popular filmmaker Animesh Aich’s latest film Voyangkor Sundor, which stars Indian actor Parambrata Chaterjee and Ashna Habib Bhabna in lead roles, is set for a release during the first week of August. Apparently, the director and producer of the film are opting to release it between the two Eids, when it is likely to meet less vying from other releases.
This is Parambrata’s second Bangladeshi film to get a theatrical release here while it is his first work oppostie Bhabna, whose work on TV have garnered plaudits from the audience.
The film’s teaser which came out in December last year created quite a buzz among local film enthusiasts. In the teaser, it is established that Bhabna falls for a nerdy young man, played by Parambrata. The 50 second teaser also depicts Parambrata having done something horrible to save Bhabna from an apparent sexual assault, and the duo going undercover in order to avoid the consequences.
Based on a novel titled, Joler Ghurni O Bokbok Shobdo penned by Moti Nandi, the film follows the unusual romance between the lead characters played by Parambrata and Bhabna.
The psychological drama also casts Syed Hasan Imam, Khairul Alam Sobuj, Lutfor Rahman George, Farhan Mithu, Faruk Ahmed, Shilpi Sarker Apu, Allen Shuvro and Mahmudul Islam.
