Alternative band, Indalo has organised a gig in tribute to the recently departed grunge icon Chris Cornell.
The band along with 21 musicians from the country will perform in the tribute concert titled “Alive in the Superunknown”, which will be held on July 21, the day after the American musician’s 53rd birthday. It will take place at the Russian Cultural Center, Dhanmondi, starting from 5pm.
Indalo wrote a personal message to the Soundgarden and Audioslave singer on Facebook, providing a brief background to organise the show. “Hello Chris, you may not know us but we have known you for years through your music which has been a part of us since the rebellious 90’s. You have been a friend, a seeker; representing not just an era but our rebellions, frustrations and struggles through the absurd mainstream system.”
“Your passing was a blow but we are coming together to celebrate you through your music. … we will be singing your songs. Many will join in to sing with us,” it further reads.
Tickets for the show will be available from July 7 onwards.
