The lyrics to “Allah Meherbaan,” the item number in the film Boss 2: Back to Rule, has been changed in response to the scathing criticism.
Abdul Aziz, the film’s producer, spoke to the Bangla Tribune regarding the changes.
“A lot of criticism has been directed towards the song. When we screened the song before it was released on YouTube, everyone appreciated it. I had no inkling that people would respond to viscerally.
“But what is done is done. We have changed the lyrics of the song. It has been rewritten”

The song will be re-released on the official YouTube channel of Jazz Multimedia on June 20. The word that was responsible for sparking the controversy, “Allah,” has been changed to “Yaara,” claims another source. The newly released song will be called “Yaara Meherbaan.”
Earlier on May 28, two legal notices were sent against Jazz Multimedia within several hours of its release of “Allah Meherbaan,” decrying its assault on the spirit of Islam. Both notices claimed that the song abused the name of Allah in a vulgar and despicable manner.
Later on May 30, Jazz Multimedia removed the video from their YouTube page. But the same video uploaded by the Kolkata distributor Grassroots Entertainment remains on YouTube.
