Voyangkor Sundor set for post-Eid release
Filmmaker Animesh Aich’s new film Voyangkor Sundor was set for an April 2017 release but was delayed. Many speculated that the Parambrata and Bhabna starring film would get an Eid release. However, it seems people have to wait a few more days after the Eid holidays. Though the film has big cast members like Parambrata Chatterjee from Kolkata, during Eid holidays the Bangladeshi audiences tend to crave a feature of Dhallywood king Shakib Khan more than anything else. Moreover, there is always theatre shortage for a film like Voyangkor Sundor. In this situation, producers reckon that Voyangkor Sundor could be in a position of financial disadvantage if it is released this Eid. Hence, they are planning to release it after Eid-ul-Fitr. However, the director said, “The film is yet to be ready for release now. We do not want to be hurried into an Eid-ul-Fitr release.” The film’s teaser, which came out last December, created quite a buzz. In the teaser, it is established that Bhabna falls for a nerdy young man, played by Parambrata. The 50 second teaser also depicts Parambrata having done something horrible to save Bhabna from an apparent sexual assault, and the duo had to go undercover to avoid the consequences. Based on a short story written by Moti Nandi, the film follows an unusual romance between the lead roles played by Parambrata and Bhabna. The psychological drama also casts Syed Hasan Imam, Khairul Alam Sobuj, Lutfor Rahman George, Farhan Mithu, Faruk Ahmed, Shilpi Sarker Apu, Allen Shuvro and Mahmudul Islam.
