The Dark Tower just dropped and it looks fantastic

Update : 03 May 2017, 08:56 PM
We can’t talk for all the lovers of the best selling novels, but what we can focus on is the footage we’ve all been spoiled to. The trailer to The Dark Tower film dropped on Wednesday, and most film fans and readers of the Stephen King series will be a tad relieved. The film is to be released later this year on August 4, nearing the tail end of a string of summer blockbusters. Many critics and pundits were a bit worried that we had only been exposed to a poster and a couple of on-set photos. We were at a point in wondering why the studio hadn’t released a trailer by now, and perhaps early reports of the film weren’t that great. And just maybe, the film was actually terrible and they’d prolong the entire release. [embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GjwfqXTebIY[/embed] Wednesday’s trailer said the exact opposite. The trailer does an excellent job of introducing the main characters, both protagonists and antagonists, to the average moviegoer. Nowadays, unfortunately, we look forward to trailers that don’t give too much away and that can cater to moviegoers who aren’t too familiar with already existing franchises. It’s everything you would expect from an epic action-adventure film; well, at least that’s what it seems in the wonderfully put together first trailer. The execution of action sequences seems to gel in swimmingly with the thrill factor for a film like this. Even though we haven’t seen the film itself, we can only expect brilliant performances by both Elba and McConaughey. Can’t go wrong with those two, right? Well, the trailer has gotten us excited, we can only hope the highly anticipated film can satisfy the masses come August. The film is directed by Nikolaj Arcel and stars Idris Elba (the Gunslinger), Matthew McConaughey (Man in Black), along with Jake Chambers and Katheryn Winnick of hit the show Vikings.
