Pioneering Bangladeshi hiphop band Stoic Bliss is all set to wow local hiphop fans once again with their third studio album. The dominant hip-hop troupe, which has reigned over the local hiphop scene for the last decade, is making a comeback after an hiatus of almost nine years. The teaser for the album is already out and has sparked a great deal of interest from local fans.
For their comeback venture Stoic Bliss 3, the makers of hit single “Abar Jigay” are cooking up some local Trap music.
“We are hoping that Bangla Trap is going to make its place among Bengali hiphop lovers. We are dropping our records very soon. Some of them will come out with music videos too. We’re hoping to release our third album for the upcoming Eid. That’s all we can share right about now,” said Kazi and Ac1d, who are all hyped about their return to the music scene.
Looking forward to the comeback, Kazi said, “The producer is different this time - he’s not Bengali. So we are definitely not working with producers we have worked with in the past. It’s a new era, new sound, new wave, new culture that we are bringing with this album. Much more different and versatile music from different genres. Stoic Bliss 3 will be beyond hiphop. ”
Bangladesh’s hiphop community took shape in the early 2000s, when young adults began rapping for fun. Deshi MCs and Stoic Bliss were some of the earliest groups in the scene. Originating from Queens, New York, the troupe released their pioneering mainstream hiphop album in Bangladesh in 2006. The super hit track “Abar Jigay” from the debut album Light Years Ahead was widely lauded and created a viable position for the band in the local hiphop scene.
