After her elctrifying performance at Coachella, Lady Gaga startled her fans by announcing her new single “The Cure.”
The surprise announcement from the 31-year-old singer-actor came just at the end of her 90-minute performance at the Coachella Valley Music in Indio, California on Saturday.
The six-time Grammy winner played the new track for the first time midway through her performance, which was packed with an 18-song list.
She told the crowd, “I’ve been so excited for this next part of the show because I’ve been trying to keep it a secret for so long. I’ve been in the studio and I’d like to debut a brand new song, ‘The Cure.’”
At the end of her show when the audience began to head for the exit, Gaga unleashed her final surprise, “My new single is out tonight on iTunes. It’s called ‘The Cure.’ I love you!”
Similar to her Super Bowl halftime show last February, Gaga’s Coachella concert as a headliner broadened her career largely and included hits from the electro-pop queen like “Just Dance,” “Born This Way” and “Bad Romance.” Gaga replaced Beyoncé as this year’s headliner after Beyoncé opted to skip the gig, since she is pregnant with twins.
