Within the span of 24 hours, actor Shakib Khan changed his mind regarding statements made on Monday, after actress Apu Biswas had announced her marriage and child with him on live television.
Shakib told the Bangla Tribune: “The child is mine, and Apu is also my wife. I said a lot of things while angry yesterday [Monday], and this was not right.”
“There is nothing illegal about having a child, and there is nothing illegal about having a wife either. Maybe even Apu didn’t understand that the situation would take a wrong turn so quickly,” he said.
Shakib added that he believed a certain group of people had influenced Apu into making the revelation in an effort to bring him down, as he did not think she would have acted this way if she was in a calm frame of mind.
On Monday, Shakib had originally said that he would take responsibility for his son, but not the child’s mother.
Meanwhile, regarding Shakib’s change of mind, Apu said: “These were the words I wanted to say yesterday. I did not want too much, just some recognition.”
When asked whether anyone had influenced her, Apu said she made the decision to gain deserved recognition and to secure the future of their child.
