A music video titled “Mashrafe” has been released to pay tribute to the recently retired Bangladesh limited-overs cricket captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza. Composed by lyricist Rabiul Islam Jibon, the music video was released on April 8 and is available to stream on the production house HTM’s official YouTube Channel.
Abrar Rahman Siam sang for the track with Rumman Chowdhury’s lyrics and composition.
“I wrote the lyrics for the song almost two years ago. He (Mashrafe) loved it when I showed it to him. Then we went again to the captain after the completion of the tuning and composition of the song. He listened to the song and appreciated it. We didn’t release the song earlier as we were waiting for the official video. But hearing upon the news of his retirement from T-20, we immediately released the lyrical video to pay tribute to the captain. I believe the Mash fans will like it,” said Rabiul Islam Jibon.
The 33-year-old pacer, who plays wearing braces to protect his knee, made the announcement of his retirement from Twenty20 International cricket after the ongoing two-match series against Sri Lanka on Tuesday during the post-toss interview at the first T20 encounter at the R. Premadasa Stadium there.
