Rahsaan Noor and Ridy Sheikh will soon be seen in a romantic period movie, titled Bengali Beauty. Mushfiqur Rahman and Tanha Zafreen of Bioscopewala Productions are producing the film. Rahsan Noor will also direct the film, which will be shot in Dhaka this spring.
The movie is set in Dhaka during 1970, and the story goes on to portray the love story between a radio presenter (Rahsan Noor) and the beautiful daughter of an Army general (Ridy Sheikh).
Noor was last seen in the 2015 film The Spectacular Jihad of Taz Rahim, where he starred opposite Bollywood actress, Monica Dogra. The film was featured by Film India Worldwide at the Berlinale Film Festival. Ridy Sheikh was also featured as the Bengali face for UNESCO’s internationally renowned documentary The Ethnic Origins of Beauty. Before that, she also participated in So You Think You Can Dance Russia, in 2014.
Bioscopewala Productions is a Bangladeshi based film production house. They are also currently developing a romantic comedy, Motka, the second film in their 2017 slate.
