From the beginning of its production, filmmaker Animesh Aich’s second feature film was the centre of attention among filmgoers. Though the film was submitted to Bangladesh Film Censor Board early January this year, it faced some complications in getting the final nod and the release of the film was delayed.
Finally, on March 16, they earned the coveted approval to run it in theatres. Apparently, the delay by the censor board had nothing to do with its content, as it got an uncut certificate.
Meanwhile, Animesh Aich expresses his desire to release the film this April. Even if they manage to set up a release date at the end of April, he would go for it.
In the film, one of Kolkata’s most celebrated actors, Parambrata Chatterjee teamed up with Bangladeshi actor Ashna Habib Bhabna.
The film’s teaser, which came out last December, created quite a buzz. In the teaser, it is established that Bhabna falls for a nerdy young man, played by Parambrata. The 50-seconds teaser also depicts Parambrata having done something horrible to save Bhabna from an apparent sexual assault, and the duo had to go undercover to avoid the consequences.
Based on a short story written by Moti Nandi, the film follows an unusual romance between the lead roles played by Parambrata and Bhabna.
The psychological drama, which is titled Killing Beauty in English, also casts Syed Hasan Imam, Khairul Alam Sobuj, Lutfor Rahman George, Farhan Mithu, Faruk Ahmed, Shilpi Sarker Apu, Allen Shuvro, and Mahmudul Islam.
