A computer hacker learns from mysterious rebels about the true nature of his reality and his role in the war against its controllers and thus begins the epic journey of one of the most celebrated cyberpunk-science-fiction movies in history and considered one of the most original films in cinematic history.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros is developing another film for the franchise, which has spawned three movies so far: The Matrix (1999), The Matrix Reloaded (2003) and The Matrix Revolutions (2003). All three of the movies were written and directed by siblings Lana and Lillly Wachowski.
The iconic 1999 sci-fi movie is in the early stages of developing a relaunch and sources say that
Michael B Jordan is being considered to star in the instalment. Although, writer and director of the previous instalments, the Wachowski siblings, are completely missing from the scene and have no engagement whatsoever as of now, Joel Silver, producer of the original trilogy, has apparently come up with the idea of mining The Matrix for a potential new film and approached Warner Bros.
Keeanu Reeves, who played the role of Neo in all three films and made quite a fortune out of it, said that he would work in another Matrix movie but there are a few terms the ‘John Wick’ has to offer.
In an interview with Yahoo Movies last month, he said, “The Wachowskis would have to be involved, they would have to write it and direct it. And then we’d see what the story is, but yeah, I don’t know, that’d be weird, but why not?”
However, No official comment on the reboot has been made as of yet, but the news has already made quite a stir on social media platforms. Some of the fans want to see more of The Matrix, while some just want to the legacy left alone.
