Kabori Sarwar to unveil her memoir

Her memoir titled Smritituku Thak, which the actress stated can be considered to be an autobiography as well, is coined from a 1976 big screen endeavour of the starlet of the same name. The book will be uncovered today at the ongoing Ekushey Book Fair. Published by BPL, it will be available from today at the publisher’s booth. The 66-years old actress, who is now serving as a Member of Parliament, has had an illustrious career in both acting and politics. Kabori made her big screen debut when she was only 13 years old, and garnered immense popularity for her portrayals. She has paired up with the biggest names of the Bangladeshi film industry including Razzak, Farooque, Bulbul Ahmed, Alamgir, Sohel Rana and Ujjal. From participating in the Bangladesh Liberation War and appearing in a broadcast of Radio India during the war to engaging in political activities in her later years, Kabori’s life and achivements, both in her private and professional life, are bound to intrigue many fans and readers. Poet Nirmalendu Goon has written a foreword for the book Smritituku Thak. The two times National Film Award winner, who won the first for her role in Sareng Bou in 1978 and later claimed the Life time Achievement award in 2013, wishes to add a second part to her book in future.
