A very famous food item of Old Dhaka, bakorkhani has its own story. The name “Bakorkhani” came from a love story. Rumour has it that once upon a time, an adopted son of Nawab Murshid Kha, Aga Bakir Kha and the dancer of Murshidabad, Khoni Begum fell in love. Khoni Begum was killed, and then Bakir Kha became a bohemian. To remember their love story, the food was named bakorkhani. This time, the love story has a new dimension. Faria, who stays abroad, comes to Dhaka to make a documentary about the heritage of Old Dhaka. She finds bakorkhani very interesting and starts looking for the meaning behind the name. Shobdo Ahmed, a student of fine arts and a photographer, helps her to get her job done. Faria is drawn to his caring nature, and the story goes on.
The new drama Bakhorkhani ends with love and romance. The script of the drama is written by Iffat Jahan, while the executive producer is Mehedi Hasan Babu.
