It is encouraging to see the government start broadcasting classes for students
As the coronavirus pandemic continues to wreak havoc with daily life across the country and the globe, it is imperative that we do everything in our power to ensure that certain essential elements of life, such as education, continue to reach the people of this country.
In this regard, it is encouraging to see the government start broadcasting classes for students from classes VI through X on Sangsad Television.
This is the kind of initiative required during a crisis such as this to keep things moving forward, which encourages people to stay home and stay safe.
Social distancing and self-isolation are key elements to weathering this pandemic, and bringing education to every household is not only a step towards inclusivity, but should ensure that children all across the nation do not miss out on essential education.
This step can also be expanded upon; not only can other classes also receive education in this manner, colleges and universities across the country would do well to take advantage of online learning so that the mighty river of education continues to flow onwards without interruption.
In fact, this is the attitude we need moving forward, as it becomes more and more necessary for people to work and study from home; this means that we need to constantly innovate to bring essential services to the people, be it using all the progress we have made under the banner of Digital Bangladesh, or through more traditional means such as telephone or television.
The safety of the people must, of course, always come first; but the government would do well to continuously think of news in which education, for example, can go on unabated.
