As our SMEs will grow, so will the number of jobs we create
The need for our economy to evolve as we head into the future cannot be overstated, because while our performance has been admirable on many fronts, the growth we are experiencing must be sustainable, and keep up with the times.
In this regard, placing an emphasis on our small and medium enterprises (SMEs) can go a long way towards ensuring that we create a more inclusive economy and continue to diversify the products in our basket.
It is, then, encouraging to see that the government has been doing a commendable job to ensure that SMEs thrive, with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina urging research to be done to figure out the types of products that would cater to global demand and move the economy forward.
In fact, such businesses can pave the way to reinvigorating many sectors within the economy and be more efficient when it comes to using our resources.
They are at the heart of what keeps Bangladesh running, and it is absolutely necessary for the government to continue to incentivize such businesses even further moving forward, as they can, combining modern technology, allow our nation to become a key player in the global economy.
As our SMEs will grow, so will the number of jobs we create, and with more than two million young people entering the job market each year, this has become necessary for the government to put extra emphasis on.
Our SMEs can employ the youth, empower our women, and reinvigorate our economy -- we must do everything in our power to ensure that they get the support they need to continue to grow in the future.
