One year ago, on July 1, 2016, five terrorists stormed into Holey Artisan Bakery and killed 28 people.
Life in Bangladesh has not been the same since.
That the attack took place in the month of Ramadan just days from Eid, shows the extent of the evil that lies in the souls of those who kill in the name of God.
Holey was a most terrible reminder of the fact that violent extremism not only lives, but has been thriving in Bangladesh, and things boil down to a battle between us and them.
On the anniversary of that attack, let us pledge to make sure nothing like this ever happens again.
