On this National Mourning Day, we solemnly recall the tragedy that met our Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, along with almost all of his family, 42 years ago.
He was taken away from us in the most brutal of fashion, at the hands of traitors who could not live up to the values of freedom every Bangladeshi holds dear.
On this day, let us also not forget these exact values and ideals which the Father of the Nation left us with, ideals which were instrumental in achieving liberation for this great country of ours.
We, as Bangladeshis, have come a long way since that fateful day in 1975, but there is still a long way to go.
We should, all of us, bear in our hearts and minds Bangabandhu’s vision, as we move forward, together, as a nation, towards progress and success.
