She had been suffering from colon cancer for two years
Sabrina Manzur Tannie passed away in Toronto, Canada on Tuesday night, after a long battle with cancer. She was 34.
Tannie was diagnosed with colon cancer in July 2017 and had been undergoing treatment in Canada.
As her condition deteriorated, she was admitted to Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto on November 2, where she breathed her last at 9:15pm, local time, on November 12.
She is survived by her parents, brother, and a host of relatives.
Born and raised in Dhaka, Tannie passed her SSC exams from Viqarunnisa Noon School Dhanmondi Branch in 2002, and HSC exams from Viqarunnisa Noon College in 2004.
She graduated from North South University in 2009 with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in electronics and telecommunication engineering, and a Master’s of electrical engineering degree from the University of Windsor in Canada in 2011.
She was working as a telecommunications analyst at the Royal Bank of Canada when she was diagnosed with cancer.
Her body will be flown in to Dhaka on the morning of Tuesday, November 19, and her janaza will be held after Zohr prayers at the Gulshan Azad Mosque the same day. She will be buried at the Banani graveyard in Dhaka.
Her family requests all to pray for her departed soul.
