Ahmed Golam Arif, a former head of administration at Dhaka Tribune, a major English-based national daily newspaper, has passed away in Dhaka.
He died at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Anwer Khan Modern Hospital at 2pm on Tuesday.
Ahmed Golam was a former personal assistant to Kazi Shahid Ahmed, founder of Gemcon Group. He also was the head of human resources and administration at Bangla Tribune, a major online news portal.
The 56-year-old was undergoing treatment since September 21. He is survived by his wife, and two daughters.
His namaz-e-janaza was held after Magrib prayers at the Taqwa Mosque, in Dhaka's Dhanmondi area.
After a stop at his house at Dhanmondi's Central Road, he will be taken to his ancestral home in Banglabazar.
Ahmed Golam will be laid to rest at the Jurain graveyard, his family members informed.
Dhaka Tribune publisher Kazi Anis Ahmed, Dhaka Tribune Editor Zafar Sobhan, and Bangla Tribune Editor Zulfiqer Russell expressed their condolences to the bereaved family.
