He was the former chairman of Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board and former managing director of Sena Kalyan Sangstha

Brig Gen (retd) Zahed Latif passed away at Asgar Ali Hospital in Dhaka on Sunday, after suffering a cardiac arrest. He was 76.

He was the former chairman of Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board and former managing director of Sena Kalyan Sangstha.

Zahed attended Faujdarhat Cadet College and then the Pakistan Military Academy (PMA). He was in the 29th graduating batch of PMA.

In his long career in the Army Corp Engineering, he served with distinction on critical endeavours, including construction of the Karakorum highway and the Engineering Centre and School of Military Engineering in Kedarabad.

He also served as the military attaché at the Bangladesh Embassy in China.

His qulkhani will be held at his Eskaton Garden residence at 10am on Friday.
