The strike, called by Habiganj District Road Transport Workers Union and Ambulance Owners Workers Association, started at 6am on Sunday.

Their demands include assigning a designated ambulance parking area within the Habiganj Sadar Modern Hospital premises and an end to "police harassment" of drivers.

Meanwhile, the sudden strike by transportation workers has caused inconvenience for passengers.

Many are returning home from Habiganj Municipal Bus Terminal as no buses or other transportation was found.

On the other hand, several were seen going for alternative modes of transportation to reach their destination. However, they said they were charged extra fares.
