A fire broke out in a cotton warehouse of Jaba Textile Mill in the Brahmandi area of Narayanganj on Thursday.
Two Fire Service units in cooperation with the factory's in-house fire unit took almost one and a half hours to douse the fire.
Narsingdi Fire Service Station In-Charge Mostafizur Rahman said that they had a hard time dousing the fire since the fire was starting again and again since it was a cotton warehouse.

In addition, the inadequacy of water in the factory was a problem at first, however, they could control the fire after a lot of effort in the end, he said.
Mill authorities claimed that the fire had caused them a loss of almost Tk1 crore.
Deputy General Manager (DGM) Mahmud Hossen said that some workers had noticed the fire during their prayers around 1:30pm and started shouting. The fire soon spread to the nearing cotton mixing and colour cotton warehouses, he said.
