After concerts in both Dhaka and Sylhet, it was time for Chittagong’s turn in the limelight. Last Saturday, September 22, Dan Cake presents “Legacy of Rock n’ Roll” enthralled rock music lovers at Mezban Ballroom of Radisson Blu Chittagong Bay View.
The concert, which was organized by Blue Fox Entertainment, featured popular bands such as Warfaze, Cryptic Fate, Indalo, Powersurge, Mechanix, Radioactive, Echoes and locally based Teerondaz. The bands played both their own originals as well as tributes to the legends of the genre, namely Pink Floyd, Guns n Roses, Metallica and Scorpions.
The event, meant to cater to young rock music lovers, was a success with approximately a thousand people in attendance. The Dhaka and Sylhet phases of the concert, in May and August respectively, were also quite popular amongst members of the youth community.
The number of enthusiasts of the genre is indicative of the existing and exponentially increasing diversity in taste and culture within the Bangladeshi music scene.
If you’re waiting with bated breath for the concert to hit your hometown, then there’s good news for you. Dan Cake hopes to continue supporting “Legacy of Rock n’ Roll” through concerts in more cities such as Rajshahi and Barisal in the near future.
