The many faces of Eid
With Eid-ul-Azha knocking at the door, we women can't help but be concerned about Eid and how to look our best on the day. And due to the sticky weather and humidity, the common problems faced by women are smeared eyeliner, smudged lipstick and of course, melting makeup. So here are few tips to keep your make up fresh throughout the day.

Exfoliate to glow

Exfoliate your skin before putting anything on your face. Use a scrub to clean your face. Waxing your face can also be a form of exfoliation. If you are planning on waxing an area on your face, make sure you avoid exfoliating your skin after you wax to prevent damage.

For a sheer glow, apply a light layer of your favourite moisturiser. Doing this will prevent your foundation from looking too cakey, and it will also keep your skin healthy underneath your makeup.

Primers are definitely the way to go in summer. They don't feel at all like a heavy, additional layer, and they really help hold makeup in place. Apply your primer after moisturiser but before applying makeup on your face. [gallery size="medium" ids="174472,174476,174473"]

The lighter the better

Always remember, less is more! Especially, if you want to keep your makeup from creasing and caking. Use light make up on your face including blush, eye shadows, concealer, and a natural base.

Shimmer it up

As the humidity will make you extra shiny and sweaty-looking, if you have too much sparkle on your skin, try applying shimmers or go for a shimmery eye makeup during theevening.

Powder blush

Use powder blush or dust a light, invisible setting powder overtop. Just be sure not to get too heavy-handed.

Waterproof formulas

With the heat from your body and the horribly humid weather, most eyeliners will end up either running or will have to be reapplied all day. So make sure you use waterproof and smudge free formulas for eyeliners and mascaras.

Go bold

Qurbani Eid is all about being bold. So go ahead and use those heavy matte lipsticks. Try going bold with plum (grape) and merlot (red wine) colours for something more daring. You can also try sweet pink or peach shades for a traditional look. [gallery size="medium" ids="174493,174494,174495"]
