To be fair, the local scene was missing out on some top of the line menswear that is in sync with the changing taste of world fashion.
Last Friday, on February 17, the premium brand hosted a fashion show, that started with words from the chairman Saadat Chowdhury, at Lakeshore Hotel to present their Spring Summer'17 collection and as expected, they did not disappoint.
Although, Zurhem has been all about the gents in the past year, this year, flaunting their excellent artisanship, the brand, for the first time ever introduced a series of womenswear.
The women's line made a brilliant debut featuring pleated pants, formal jumpsuits with a tightly belted waist, crop jackets with leather detailing, flared sleeves and more. The brand started off as a menswear label, which is why traces of masculine designs can be found in the women's lineup as well.
Throughout the past year, Zurhem has remained faithful to its classy simplicity. Infusing formal staples with casual references, creative director Mehruz Munir structured essential layers that define fitted silhouettes with a chic, modern twist.
For this year's Spring Summer collection, fabrics were of the best quality and colours were vivid. The energetic tone of the lineup accentuated the elements from casual, formal and activewear that blended into a very sophisticated medley.
The collection had great energy and emphasised on Zurhem's signature jackets that had a smoother, softer fit, sometimes paired with loose, and sometimes with nonchalant, tapered pants. The catwalks were diverse, presenting every single statement highlighting their sartorial, dapper flair.
