Plum, aubergine, burgundy, blackcurrant--as much as we loved all the dark lips that we were introduced to in 2015 and 2016, bright peachy makeup is making a come back this season. Eyes, lips, cheeks—it's time to go all out and paint subtle shades of peach this spring.BasePrep your skin with a good moisturiser before applying any makeup. If you're going out during the day time, apply a generous amount of sunscreen over your moisturiser and put on foundation. Blend out the foundation using a blending brush or a beauty blender. You can skip the sunscreen if you're going out after evening. Dust your face with powder to set the base. Using a primer underneath it all is a good option and will set everything in place.
CourtesyEyes and browsMessy or neat—you could go either way but don't go overboard with the eyebrows. Use an eyebrow pencil to fill them in with short strokes and brush them upwards with a spoolie—this will make them look fuller. Overly outdrawn eyebrows could look disproportionate and may not mesh well with the rest of your facial features. Keep them as simple as doable.
Ideally, smoky eyes work best with natural looking base and lips. Start from the outer crease of your eye by applying a shade in dark brown and work your way into the inner crease. Next, apply a coat of dark orange or light brown eye shadow right along the dark brown line that you just drew and follow the trail along the crease. Dab on some soft but pigmented peach shadow on your lid and blend everything together, extending the outer corner into a nice wing, and highlight the brow bone.
Wrap it up by drawing a slightly winged line over your lash line. Apply a coat or two of your favourite volumising mascara that will make those eyes pop.CheeksStart with soft contouring strokes under your cheekbones to give your face a subtle lift. Dab some light peach blush on those cheeks and finish it off with a slight touch of highlighter on the cheekbones. This will really make your skin look dewy and glowy. Please note that you could choose either a brush or a beauty blender even for precision blending around the cheekbones.LipsIf you're using a matte lip cream, we recommend you use a lip balm as the base, as the matte lip colour could dry out your pout. Outline your lips with a light brown lip liner. Fill them in with a matte lip cream in peach—it can be light or dark, whatever compliments your complexion best. A vibrant coral, brown or even a light pink lip colour could be just what you need to pull off this look. Don't hesitate to apply a little gloss in the centre of your lower lip to give the illusion of a plumper pout.
