If there’s one thing I’d like to see this March, it’s women not having to spend a minute longer in the kitchen than they want to. Here are three super fast recipes for wholesome meals – and anyone can make them, so guys, if you want to treat your mom, wife, significant other to something delicious and home made for a change, take note.
Rolling in the deep
Is it a fish taco? Is it a roll? What it is, is delicious.
Ingredients:
Roti/chapatti, lightly toasted
Half a Basa fillet (you can get these in the frozen section of the supermarket)
Lettuce
Half a tomato, diced
1 green chilli, finely chopped
Handful of cilantro or coriander, finely chopped
Half a ripe avocado, diced
Half a shallot, finely sliced
Salt and pepper
Juice of 1 lime, freshly squeezed
¼ mango, diced (optional)

Procedure:
Wash Basa fillet properly, and squeeze or pat dry. Make sure it’s dry. Add salt and pepper on to both sides. Resist the temptation to toss in the holud morich. Take a super hot pan, and add a teaspoon of olive oil. Drop in the fillet, sear both sides and cover and cook. Lower the heat to medium now. And no matter how curious you get, don’t peek. Don’t let the steam escape. The steam will cook the fish through. Give it about 7 minutes for this to happen.
The assembly:

Over that, fish laid
Add all the chopped ingredients on top and roll em' up and serve.
Alu bhorta sandwich
It's exactly what it sounds like.
Ingredients:
Your favourite alu bhorta your way
Deshi paneer, grated (the less salty kind)
Bread
Process:
Slap the Alu bhorta in between the breads, and add cheese
Serve with cha or coffee
Cozy chicken
This short cut recipe is the perfect one to put together if you’re on a budget or short on time.
Ingredients:
1 or 2 chicken breasts
A can of cream of mushroom or any canned soup
Good quality bread or steamed rice
Carrots, cut in chunks, steamed
Salt and pepper
1-2 tbps butter

Procedure:
Clean and wash chicken
Pat dry
Sprinkle pepper and salt all over chicken
Add butter to a hot pan and sear chicken breasts
Cover and cook until both sides are light brown. Lower heat and cook for 10 mins or so
In another pot, follow instructions of the soup. When soup is half way done add the chicken in the soup and cook through
Soup should be thick and coating all of the chicken
Serve with good bread or steamed rice along with steamed carrots.
