This year’s newest collection by Sahar Rahman Couture is the perfect blend of glamour and tradition. 

“For us designers, sometimes the touch and feel of the fabric just inspires the design itself. Velvet has been the material of choice for the winter that gives the warmth we need whilst the luxe look of it and the rich colours champion the needs of the winter festivities. Moreover, because of a hushed year fraught with quarantine and gloominess in the air, fashion industry definitely needs a bit of party cheer. So we picked bold, jewel toned colours, which is also a weather demand and the design and cuts were such that people can pull off statement looks, yet carry a minimal look at the intimate events or weddings during this time. Velvet is one of those fabrics, on which one does not need to do much to achieve the glam one needs,” says Sahar, as I interview her.

Known for their wide array of subtle bridal wear, the Rahman sisters have included bold and bright colours to their line due to popular demand.

Sahar Rahman’s forte has always been soft pastels, that has won hearts over the years. However, bold bright colors have gained mass approval in these years and are here to stay. “It has been the last two years that we are introducing jewel tones for those clients who are inclined towards the darker palette. That is what inspired us to cater to the tastes of all clients this season. We are so grateful that the response has been fantastic and the experience keeps getting better now that other girls and women are comfortable shopping from us,” she added.
