Maanza, an online fashion label fosters indigenous artisans and amateur designers
Sadia Islam, a designer by profession, came up with the name of the online fashion label, Maanza, at the end of 2019. Along with the name of the brand, she has been occupied with designing her collection of vivid, premium, ready-to-wear outfits. Today, her collections consist of hand spun delicate dresses which are made using artisan craftsmen right from the homeland. With the tagline, “Design Awesomeness!” Sadia is working with a community of designers and artisans whom she recognizes as Maanza Creators. Sadia is promoting the designs created by amateur fashion designers, by accelerating those to finished products and giving them a platform to showcase their creations.
In fact, the journey of Maanza can be traced almost eight months back, when she was occupied with creating a brand that offers the right combination of style and quality. The richness and the variety of the textile materials incorporated with detailed elemental and hand-woven designs, is what makes Maanza stand out.
Intense detailing, zardosi embroidery and thread work, along with appliqués are the focal point of the ensembles. The best part of the brand is that the designs and the materials are incorporated from the view point of the wearer’s comfort level and fashion.
“Garments that have been hand woven or embellished by hand have a history and additional depth behind them,” said Sadia Islam. Her only hope is that this handmade feel comes across each piece that she designs and lasts forever.
