With summer’s soaring temperatures, it’s easy to lose track of your water intake and get dehydrated. One perk of this seemingly terrible season is that it comes with some of the best fruits you will get throughout the year – something to definitely exploit before they run out and you’re only left with your midnight cravings. While it’s essential to drink lots of water to keep yourself hydrated, smoothies made with fresh fruits can inject flavor, texture and colour into your hydration regime while adding nutrition to your diet.   Tropical_Assorted

Tropical Assorted Fruits:

Ingredients: 3/4 cup of pineapple juice 1/2 cup of coconut milk 1 large banana – frozen; sliced 1 cup of frozen mango 1 cup of frozen pineapple The method behind this sweet tropical madness is quite simple – just place all the ingredients in your blender and blend away. Serve in tall glasses with sprigs of mint and/or some lime as a garnish, or take it to-go for later.   Strawberry_Sunrise

Strawberry-Mango Sunrise:

This is a beautiful pink-and-yellow layered smoothie that is guaranteed to knock everyone’s socks off. Kids in particular are sure to be impressed. Ingredients: 1 cup frozen diced strawberries 1 cup frozen diced mango ¼ cup orange juice 1 ripe banana 1 cup non-fat Greek yogurt 3/4 cup coconut water Start with your first layer by blending the mango, halves of the banana and the Greek yogurt, ¼ cup coconut water and the orange juice. Set that aside while you blend the strawberries and the remaining ingredients. Pour the mango smoothie until it fills half a glass, and then pour the strawberry layer on top of it and gently stir with a spoon to create a mesmerising gradient.   Toasted_Coconut
