The launch, which begins at 6:30pm, will be followed by a reading of the poet's new and older works.
Sudeep seeks to push the boundaries of the written word in his new work. Filled with short, tight, meditative, gripping pieces of micro-fiction or prose-poems under five heads — desire, disease, delusion, dream, downpour — the book aptly demonstrates what brevity can achieve, and that an endless stream of words is not required to speak volumes. It is a true reflection of contemporary avant-garde prose fiction.
Sudeep is the author of Postmarked India: New & Selected Poems
(HarperCollins), Distracted Geographies, Rain, Aria
(AK Ramanujan Translation Award) and Ladakh.
He has edited The HarperCollins Book of English Poetry
. He is the editorial director of Aark Arts and the editor of Atlas. He delivered the Derek Walcott Lecture at the Nobel Laureate Week.
