Workshop on electronic music to begin

Update : 01 Oct 2013, 05:20 PM

The “Soundlab: Workshop on Electronic Music” will start on October 5. This is a part of Border Movement’s mission to merge electronic music from South Asia and Germany, with affiliation with the Dhaka Electronica Scene (DES).

The four-day workshop will be a who’s who of Dhaka’s electronica artists as they come under one roof to share ideas, techniques, plans for the future and learn from one another and from the scene’s stalwarts.

Among the topics covered will be technology, possibilities and limitations of live performances, sound-art etc.

In four days, 12 participants will learn from Sasha Perera (Jahcoozi, Berlin), Gaurav Malaker (BLOT, Delhi) and Gerriet Schultz (Border Movement, Berlin) in different workshops and lectures all about the electronica scene’s issues such as club-event and club-culture, self-marketing on the internet, viral marketing, building a music label from scratch and more.

Music production workshops are going to be held where participants will be guided to produce music on

their own, because the goal is to give each participant the basics of digital music production to produce their own songs.

The workshop is on invitation only. The interested musicians have to express their interest with a short note about how it may benefit them as musicians by sending an email to [email protected].
