Bangladesh Meteorological Department has issued great danger signal number 10 for maritime ports of Mongla and Payra as the very severe cyclonic storm Bulbul is bearing down on Bangladesh coasts. The Met office also asked maritime port of Chittagong to hoist great danger signal number nine.

At a special bulletin on Saturday, the Met office advised Mongla and Payra ports to lower its earlier danger signal number seven and the Chittagong port to lower its earlier danger signal number six. Maritime port of Cox's Bazar has been advised to keep hoisting local warning signal number four, the bulletin said.

According to the Met office, coastal districts of Bhola, Barguna, Patuakhali, Barisal, Pirojpur, Jhalakathi, Bagerhat, Khulna, Satkhira and their offshore islands and chars will come under great danger signal number 10.
