Kumari Puja is the main attraction of Maha Ashtami, the third day of five-day Durga Puja festival 


Durga Puja, the biggest religious festival of the Hindu community, began on October 4. The five-day “Sharadiyo Durgotsav” will end with the immersion of Goddess Durga idols in rivers and water bodies on October 8.

Maha Ashtami, Kumari Puja, and Sandhi Puja are being celebrated on Sunday, while Maha Nabami Puja will be celebrated on Monday, and Bijoya Dashami on Tuesday.

Mohashtami is the third day of the five-day Durga Puja festival of Bangali Hindu community. The main attraction of Maha Ashtami is Kumari Puja (worshipping of the virgin Goddess). In the capital, hundreds of Hindu devotees offered Anjali (prayers) before the virgin Goddess at the Dhaka Ramakrishna Mission seeking her blessings for peace, prosperity, welfare, fraternity and changing of their lot
