In pictures: 18th Asian Art Biennale

The 18th Asian Art Biennale will be taking place throughout Dhaka at the Shilpakala Academy

The Asian Art Biennale includes countries like Nepal, Iran, China, Thailand, Korea, Pakistan, Egypt, Japan Chile, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh. 

It was conceived by the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy and first held in Bangladesh in 1981 to get to people through art and exhibit varieties of contemporary art for the general public.

The Asian Art Biennale is an international platform to allow for local artists to connect with people with their works of art.

It is considered the largest fine arts festival in Asia.

At the inauguration, President Abdul Hamid said cultural activities play an important role in promoting the tradition of communal harmony, including the development of the spirit of nationalism, patriotism, and discipline among the youths of a nation.
