The floating guava market represents the riverine lifestyle of rural Bangla

The floating guava market at Bhimruli over Kirtipasha canal in Jhalokathi - is simple eye-soothing. Origin of this floating market is unknown, but it is a hundred-year old tradition. 

In beautiful blue water of the canal, farmers carry the guavas onto the boats from the river-adjacent orchards. Hundreds of boats filled with guava gather here and all the trades occur on boats. Farmers also pluck the guavas from their boats.
