Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has conveyed his thanks to the government for making “excellent arrangement” during his two-day state visit to Bangladesh last month.
“I write to convey my thanks for the excellent arrangements made during my recent State Visit to Bangladesh,” he said in a letter to Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen, according to Foreign Ministry press release issued Monday.
Modi visited on March 26-27 to join the country’s grand celebration marking the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the 50 year anniversary of Bangladesh’s independence.
He also held bilateral meetings with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the foreign minister and others.
The Indian prime minister in the letter also congratulated the Bangladesh government for flawlessly organizing the spectacular celebrations on March 26.
He also recalled his meeting with Momen, writing: “It was a pleasure to exchange thoughts with you [Momen] during the visit.”
During the visit, Bangladesh and India agreed to accelerate the momentum that exists between the countries with an eye on next 50 years of cooperation in diversified areas.
The two countries also laid emphasis on having enhanced connectivity, not just between Bangladesh and India but beyond the two countries to ensure broader economic benefits.
