The engineering division of Rosatom State Corporation has started administering vaccines to its employees at overseas construction sites to protect them from Covid-19.
The first to receive a batch of Sputnik V medication, were the employees of the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant (RNPP) construction site at Ishwardi, Pabna, according to a message issued on Tuesday.
It said a team of medical workers from the Federal Medical and Biological Agency of Russia arrived in Bangladesh to begin the vaccination campaign.
On the first day, 800 employees of the JSC ASE Branch Office and representatives of subsidiary construction companies (Trest RosSEM, NIKIMT-Atomstroy, Energospetsmontazh) applied for the vaccination.
Vaccine for 1,000 persons was delivered to the RNPP.
JSC ASE Vice President and also the director for the RNPP Construction Project, Alexey Deriy, said: “JSC ASE takes health support of its employees very seriously as it is an integral part of our safety culture.
“Considering the importance of RNPP construction project, we have become the first international project where Rosatom arranged for the vaccination of employees against Covid-19,”
“This is not only a sharp evidence of a socially conscious approach but also the key to success in the implementation of tasks set for the project”, he added.
