Shop Owners' Association of Comilla has decided to keep their shops shut until the coronavirus situation improved in the country.
A press release was issued on Thursday afternoon stating, all shops except pharmacies, kitchen markets and wholesale markets will remain closed during Ramadan and Eid-ul-Fitr to prevent the spread of deadly coronavirus.
Mohammad Atik Ullah, general secretary of the organisation said: “Several people of the district have already been infected and are suffering from the deadly virus and so we intend to curb further community transmission."
“We hope the locals and vendors will be patient and appreciate this move and maintain it thereby,” he added
