Coronavirus: More than 200 police officials test positive in 24hrs

As many as 239 police personnel have tested positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours.

The new infections take the total number of police personnel infected by Covid-19 in Bangladesh to 1,153, reported sources at police headquarters on Tuesday.

So far at least 85 police men have recovered from the deadly virus, the sources added.

Meanwhile, five policemen have died from Covid-19 across the country while working at the frontlines of the pandemic. 

As of Tuesday, Bangladesh confirmed 10,929 coronavirus cases with the death toll rising to 183 after one new fatality was reported.

The fast spreading Covid-19 has so far killed 252,000 people in more than 200 countries and territories.
