A special helicopter from Bangladesh Air Force is ready to transport patients of Covid-19 in emergencies.
Under the Bangladesh Armed Forces Division, Bangladesh Air Force ‘in aid to civil power’ is providing support to the local administration in emergency aviation and medical evacuation, an ISPR press release said yesterday, reports BSS.
The helicopter, an AW-139, was converted into a cubicle stretcher to carry coronavirus patients, as per the directives of Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat.
A structure is installed in the cubicle stretcher, covered by plastic. Patients are able to breathe from inside the stretcher through oxygen mask. Bangladesh Air Force has completed a demonstration in that setting.

Bangladesh Air Force is always ready to tackle coronavirus crisis in the country, the release said.
Covid-19 has so far infected 164 people and killed 17 people in Bangladesh.
Globally, the outbreak has infected 1,431,944 people and killed 82,085 people thus far.
